Cindy Faulkner has been appointed executive director of First 5 San Bernardino, which promotes the health and development of children through the age of five years.
Faulkner succeeds Karen Scott, who retired in March after 18 years on the job, according to a statement on the county’s website.
Faulkner was appointed Sept. 1.
“Cindy brings an understanding of our mission and the vital collaboration we must have with our partners in order to serve the needs of children and families in our county,” said Elliot Weinstein, First 5 San Bernardino’s commission chair, in the statement, “Her experience and commitment to identifying opportunities made her a clear choice to build on our strong foundation.”
First 5 San Bernardino is part of First 5 California, which was established in 1998.
