Fitness center chain to open in Loma Linda

A national fitness center chain has leased space at a neighborhood shopping center in Loma Linda.

Fitness 19, which has 39 stores throughout California and New Jersey, will occupy 21,100 square feet at Loma Linda Plaza starting early next year, according to Progressive Real Estate Partners in Rancho Cucamonga.

Progressive marketed the property and represented the property owner in the lease negotiations. Lee & Associates represented Fitness 19.

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Fitness 19 was founded in 2003. It will be Loma Linda’s first full-service fitness center operated by a nationally known company.

Loma Linda Plaza covers 117,000 square feet at Barton Road and Mountain View Avenue, an intersection that handles more than 45,000 vehicles on a typical day. It’s next to the Veterans Administration Hospital and a short drive from Loma Linda University and the university’s medical center.

The plaza’s tenants include Chevron, H & R Block, Carl’s Jr., Papa John’s Pizza and Boba Tea House.
