The Inland Empire is home to eight of the best community colleges in California, according to a personal financial website.
Moreno Valley College (3), Norco College (7), Riverside City College (16), Chaffey College (30), College of the Desert (37), Barstow Community College (56), San Bernardino Valley College (61), and Victor Valley College (76) are among the state’s best two-year academic institutions, WalletHub.com has concluded.
The annual list is meant to determine where students can receive the best education at the lowest price. For its 2024 list, WalletHub analyzed more than 650 community colleges nationwide, applying 18 key indicators of cost and quality to each.
Those indicators include fees, student-faculty ratio and graduation rate.
“A good community college minimizes costs for students while also providing an enriching learning experience that leads to high student retention and high graduation rates,” Cassandra Happe, an analyst with WalletHub.com, said in a statement. “The best colleges also help their students after they graduate by offering employment services to help them find jobs with good salaries.”
