Inland food bank receives donation

A Reno, Nev.-based real estate investment and development firm has donated $10,000 to Feeding America Riverside, one of the Inland Empire’s largest food banks.

The donation, announced Nov. 20, is part of Dermody Properties’ 2023 Annual Thanksgiving Capstone Award, according to a statement.

Donations ranging from $3,750 to $10,000 were made 10 charitable organizations nationwide, all in communities in which Dermody conducts business. One hundred thousand dollars was donated.

Feeding America Riverside was founded in 1980 as Survive Food Bank. It distributes more than 2.5 million pounds of food per month and partners with 250-plus local nonprofit agencies, according to its website.

“The Thanksgiving Capstone Award gives Dermody Properties the opportunity to support the organizations impacting the communities we live and work in,” said Douglas Kiersey Jr., Dermody’s president and chief executive officer, in the statement.  “We are proud to give back and help make a difference for those who need help.”
