The Inland Empire recorded an unadjusted unemployment rate of 6.4 percent in July, up from a revised six percent in June and above the 5.9 percent of exactly one year earlier, according to data released Aug. 15.
This compares with an unadjusted unemployment rate of 6.1 percent for California and 4.6 percent for the nation during the same period, the state Employment. Development Department reported.
California’s adjusted employment rate in July was 5.5 percent, reportedly the largest of any state for the seventh month of the year.
Statewide, 15,000 non-agricultural jobs were added between June and July. That made up 20.5 percent of the 73,000 total jobs gained in July, according to the department.
