Three of the Inland Empire’s universities have been named among the best regional colleges and universities in the United States by the Princeton Review.
UC Riverside, the University of Redlands, and Cal State San Bernardino all made the Review’s 2026 list of the top 79 institutions of higher learning in the western region, according to the Review’s website.
The western region includes California, Oregon, Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
Schools are not ranked, but are put on the list based on their academic ranking and whether the Review believes anyone searching for a college or university should consider applying there. The full list includes 631 colleges and universities in seven zones—northeast, south, southwest, midwest, mid-Atlantic, west, and international.
Founded in 1981, the Review provides tutoring, test preparation and admission assistance for students. It is not affiliated with Princeton University.
