Elaine Jeng has been named deputy general manager of the Inland Empire Utilities Agency.
Jeng, who joined the agency last month, replaces Kevin Alexander, who was recently promoted to general manager, according to an agency statement.
During her career, Jeng has been in charge of capital improvement, stormwater, and wastewater programs. While working in El Monte, she was responsible for bringing contaminated groundwater up to drinking standards.
At the utilities agency, Jeng will lead the technical resources programs, including engineering, operations and maintenance, and planning and resources.
“Elaine Jeng brings experience and a fresh perspective that will play an important role as we continue investing in the systems and services our communities depend on,” Alexander said in the statement. “Her expertise will be a tremendous asset to the agency.”
