Two public meetings have been scheduled regarding the planned upgrades to the Ramon Road Bridge, which runs along the border of Palm Springs and Cathedral City.
The project, a partnership between Palm Springs, Cathedral City, and Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, will improve traffic flow and public safety along one of the Coachella Valley’s busiest thoroughfares, according to a statement Palm Springs’ website.
Two lanes will be added to the four-lane bridge, better protections from earthquakes and floods will be installed, and sidewalks and bicycle lanes will be added to connect the Coachella Valley Link pathway.
CV Link is a 40-mile transportation corridor designed for pedestrians, bicycles and low-speed electric vehicles.
The first meeting will be in-person and online. It’s scheduled to be held Tuesday, October 20 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Agua Caliente Elementary School, 30800 San Luis Rey Drive, Cathedral City. The zoom link is https://bit.ly/RamonRoadProjectMeeting.
The second meeting, which is in-person only, will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club of Cathedral City, 32141 Whispering Palms Trail.
Admission to both sessions is free. For more information call (760) 933-9944 or email info@ramonroadbridgeproject.com.
