Actor Michael B. Jordan has won the Palm Springs International Film Award’s Icon Award for his performance in this year’s Sinners, a film set in the early 1930s about two brothers returning to their home in the Mississippi Delta.
“Michael B. Jordan again proves why he’s been one of the most compelling performers for the past two decades,” said Nachhattar Singh Chandi, chairman of the Palm Springs International Film Festival, in a statement. “For this achievement, and for his impressive body of work, we are proud to honor him with the Palm Springs International Film Awards Icon Award.”
The Film Awards are scheduled to be held Jan. 3 at the Palm Springs Convention Center, with the festival running January 2-12. The awards program will be sponsored by Entertainment Tonight.
