La Surtidora opens in MoVal

La Surtidora Cash & Carry, a supermarket and party supply store chain, has opened in Moreno Valley.

Accompanied by owner Noemi Tovar and chamber of commerce members, Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez and the city council held a ribbon-cutting ceremony May 5, according to a statement on the city’s website.

“La Surtidora has already been such an asset to the community,” Gutierrez said in the statement. “With job creators such as La Surtidora opening up in Moreno Valley, our city has become a beacon of local employment.”

The store at 12125 Day Street, opened in December. It employs 30 people and is the company’s first in the city.

La Surtidora is one of several retailers expected to open in Moreno Valley in 2022.

Raising Cane’s, Orleans & York, and Sprouts Farmers Market are scheduled to open this summer in Moreno Valley, and Texas Roadhouse and the Buffalo Spot are expected to open at the end of the year, according to the statement.
