Riverside County’s redistricting public hearing

Meeting to discuss Riverside County redistricting

A public hearing regarding Riverside County’s redistricting will be held on Sept. 28 during the regularly scheduled board of supervisors meeting.

Residents are asked to attend the meeting, scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m., to offer their views on redistricting and possible boundary lines.

Redistricting is mandated by state law every 10 years. It’s meant to ensure equal representation by accounting for changes in population while creating communities that share common social and economic factors.

“The voice of our residents is crucial during this process as the work of the county impacts and enhances their daily lives,” said Board Chair Karen Spiegel in a statement. “Residents are encouraged to share their feedback in-person or online.”

The hearing will also be available live or on-demand at RivCoTV.org.

The board of supervisors meets at the County Administrative Center Board Chambers, 4080 Lemon St., Riverside.
