Nonprofit to open Ontario headquarters

A nonprofit that provides vocational training and job training for disabled adults will hold a grand opening at its new corporate headquarters in Ontario later this month.

Anthesis is scheduled to hold the ceremony on Aug. 20  at the facility, 1063 W. 6th St., spokeswoman Adriana Lopez said.

About 25 people have been working at the two-story office building since January, but the pandemic has kept Anthesis – formerly known as Pomona Valley Workshop – from holding an event to mark the opening, Lopez said.

Anthesis offers vocational training, job placement, life skills development, and community integration programs. It also partners with businesses to provide job opportunities for adults with disabilities.

“In our fifty-fifth year, we’re thrilled to have a presence in Ontario, which is the perfect central location to continue our mission in San Bernardino and Los Angeles counties,” said Mitch Gariador, Anthesis’ executive director, in the statement. “We are pleased for this chance to show off our new home and highlight the services we provide.”

The grand opening, which will include a tour of the facility, is free and open to the public.

Anthesis will continue to operate its two other locations, both in Montclair: a program center and a program center/thrift store, Lopez said.
