Palm Springs starts small business pilot program

Palm Springs has started a pilot program intended to help entrepreneurs who want to start a small business.

The project is a partnership between the city and the Caravanserai Project, a recently-opened small business development center in Palm Springs that is affiliated with Orange County/Inland Empire Small Business Development Center Network, according to a statement on Palm Springs’ website.

The center is providing business training and access to capital to start-up business owners.  It is focusing on helping groups that traditionally haven’t received much outside assistance when they’ve tried to start a business, including women, LGBTQ, African Americans, Latinos, veterans and the disabled.

Immigrants, regardless of their legal status, are also eligible for help.

The program is at 2150, E. Tahqutiz Canyon Way. For more information visit caravanseraiproject.org.
