Jeffrey Parke is retiring as general manager of KCAL-FM and KOLA-FM.
During his 40 years on the job, Parke helped build both radio stations into major players in the Riverside-San Bernardino market, according to a statement released by the stations.
Parke joined KCAL-FM in 1987, as sales manager, and was promoted to general manager two years later. In 1991 engineered the purchase and relaunch of KOLA-FM, which was automated oldies station at the time.
“My career has been blessed with extraordinary opportunities and extraordinary people,” Parke said in the statement. “I consider myself incredibly lucky for the 40 years I have had here. I created lifelong friendships with everyone who was a part of our unique radio family.”
Parke began his broadcasting career in 1979 at KLOM-AM in Santa Maria. He later moved to KTMS-FM in Santa Barbara before transitioning into radio sales in 1982 at KARA-FM in San Jose.
In 1984, Parke joined KMGG-FM/KPWR-FM in Los Angeles as a senior sales representative.
Parke’s last day at KCAL/KOLA will be July 24.
