Perris’ proposed special tax strikes out

Measure A, the proposed business license tax in Perris that would have paid for damage caused by industrial buildings has failed to pass.

Of 3,085 votes cast, 52.16 percent were in favor while 47.8 percent voted no, according to the Riverside County Registrar of Voters.

A two-thirds majority vote was required for passage.

Had it passed, Measure A would have paid to repair roads damaged by trucks moving in and out of warehouse distribution facilities.
