The Riverside County Board of Supervisors has ended its contract with the annual Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival, putting the event’s future in doubt.
The board voted 5-0 to terminate the contract because of unpaid bills, specifically $76,100 left over from last year’s festival, according to multiple reports.
For more than 40 years, the festival has been held at the Lake Skinner Regional Park and Recreation Area in Winchester, an area managed by the county.
Festival officials declined to comment, and no official announcement has been made about this year’s event, the reports stated.
