Riverside has started two citywide programs intended to help city businesses during the holidays.
Riverside Rewards, a digital loyalty program, allows residents and visitors to earn up to five percent rewards for items purchased at participating Riverside small businesses, according to a statement on the city’s website.
The program launched Dec. 10. By encouraging residents to shop in the city, Riverside Rewards will strengthen neighborhood businesses, and keep holiday spending within the community.
The second initiative, Riverside Hot Chocolate Trail, encourages residents to visit Riverside’s cafés and coffee shops. Both programs will last through the holiday season.
“These programs bring people together and celebrate local entrepreneurship,” said Miranda Evans, Riverside’s community and economic development director, in the statement.
