Rachelle Roman has been appointed director of Riverside County’s Office of Aging by the board of supervisors.
Roman, who has been the office’s deputy director of administration since 2013, has 23 years’ experience in public service, according to a statement on the county’s website.
“Rachelle’s many years of service and expertise are an asset to the Office on Aging,” said Supervisor V. Manuel Perez in the statement. “We look forward to her leading this department, and continuing the efforts to support our seniors.”
The Office on Aging provide home and community-based services that help older adults and individuals with disabilities. Riverside County has 550,000 residents more than 60 years old, and 280,000 households that include a senior, according to the statement.
Roman replaces Jewel Lee, who retired after eight years in that position, according to the statement.
