Cal State San Bernardino pumps nearly $1 billion annually into the Inland Empire economy, and supports an estimate 9,600 jobs, according to a university study.
During the 2023-24 academic year, Cal State San Bernardino contributed $406.5 million in regional wages and $76.7 million in state and local tax revenue to the Riverside and San Bernardino County economies, according to Moving California Forward: The Economic Power of the CSU.”
For every $1 the state invests in the San Bernardino campus, $10.06 in statewide industry activity is generated.
The 22 California State University campuses help drive the state’s economy in a similar way: for every dollar the state puts into those institutions, $7.69 was generated in industrial activity throughout the state, and that increases to $35.53 when alumni earnings statewide are included.
“Cal State San Bernardino is an anchor institution here in the Inland Empire,” said Tomás D. Morales, university president, a statement. “This report is evidence of CSUSB’s impact on the lives of our students and the communities we serve.”
