The Riverside University Health System-Medical Center has been recognized for its social responsibility.
The Lown Hospital Index placed the medical center on its 2025-’26 honor roll, which was published June 24, according to a statement on Riverside County’s website.
The index ranks more than 2,700 U.S. hospitals on their approach to social responsibility, which is divided into several categories, including value of care and patient outcomes, patient safety, community benefit, inclusivity and pay equity.
This is the second consecutive year Riverside University Health has achieved such a high ranking from Lown in social responsibility.
“As a safety net hospital, Riverside University Health strives to provide high quality care to any Riverside County resident who may need it,” said Dr. Alexandra Clark, chief medical officer for Riverside University Medical, in the statement. “Our team works hard to take care of our community, and we’re so glad that is reflected in the Lown Index.”
Riverside University Health is the county’s only public hospital. It operates as a Level 1 Trauma Center, according to the statement.
