San Bernardino passes budget

San Bernardino has approved a $330 million budget that includes nearly $10 million for infrastructure projects.

The 2026-’27 fiscal year budget, which the city council passed unanimously earlier this month, includes a general fund with a reserve of approximately $105 million, according to a statement on the city’s website.

The budget continues funding for police, parks and recreation, library services, public works, code enforcement, economic development, and homelessness response programs. It also pays for year-round recreation and special events.

“San Bernardino continues to make investments in the services and infrastructure our residents depend on every day, while maintaining strong financial reserves,” said Mayor Helen Tran in the statement. “This budget reflects our commitment to public safety, streets, parks, libraries, homelessness solutions, and long-term fiscal sustainability.”

Council members also approved funding for the city’s capital improvement program, which includes approximately $165 million for capital projects, including street repairs, park improvements, and maintaining homeless facilities, according to the statement.
