The San Bernardino County Transportation Authority is proceeding with the second phase of upgrades on Interstate 10 between Sierra and Pepper avenues.
The authority will accept bids on the project, which is part of a larger improvements package called the Interstate 10 Corridor Freight and Express Lane Project, according to a statement on the authority’s website.
A single express lane will be added in each direction between Interstate 15 and Pepper Avenue, approximately an eight-mile stretch. To speed up construction, the project has been divided into two phases: Interstate 15 to Sierra Avenue, and from there to Pepper Avenue.
This summer, staff is expected to recommend to the board who it believes should receive the contract, according to the statement.
