Stater Bros. will close one of its three Hesperia stores.
The store at 15757 Main St. will shut down after Jan. 25 because its lease has expired, said Jonathan Lieu, Stater Bros. Spokesman.
Lieu declined to discuss terms of the lease. There are no plans to replace the store, which opened in 1980 and employs 62 people. All of all of those employees will be offered jobs at other Stater Bros. markets without a drop in pay or a loss of seniority, Lieu said.
Stater Bros.’ other Hesperia stores, at 14466 Main St. and 16904 Main St., were remodeled within the last two years and will remain open, according to Lieu.
Based in San Bernardino, Stater Bros. Markets inc. operates 167 supermarkets in seven counties throughout Southern California, employs an estimated 18,000 employees and generates annual sales of more than $4 billion, according to the company’s website.
