The changing landscape of commercial real estate

The Inland Empire, a region that is noted for its large warehouses serving the logistics community, In order to take advantage of what the region has to offer you need experts in the field of commercial and industrial real estate. Jacob Bernardi and Rene Ramos Jr., two such experts join host John Tulac on the “Professionals of the Inland Empire” (PIE) podcast to discuss the changing landscape of commercial real estate.

Based in Ontario, Jacob Bernardi is a commercial real estate broker and managing director at KW Commercial Inland Empire. His specialization is primarily industrial real estate, but his experience extends across all asset types, adapting to market demands for various real estate needs.

Rene Ramos Jr. is the broker owner and operating principal of KW Commercial Inland Empire. He specializes in industrial properties, particularly those 100,000 square feet and smaller, and also handles development projects.

Bernardi and Ramos share their perspective on the evolution of warehouse sizes, noting a shift from half a million square foot facilities to those exceeding a million square feet. Ramos touches on logistics efficiencies, emphasizing the value of consolidating operations into fewer, larger warehouses rather than maintaining multiple smaller facilities. Bernardi elaborates on the development advantages found in the Inland Empire, specifically the availability of land and necessary infrastructure that supports large-scale developments.

While there are concerns about the potential impact of increasing automation and robotics on blue-collar jobs, Ramos believes that despite automation’s enhancement of efficiency, the human element will remain critical in logistics operations. There is an emphasis on the need for blue-collar workers to adapt to evolving job requirements and the potential for new tech-related job creation.

The PIE podcast aims to showcase Inland Empire professional talent, foster local economic development, and highlight the Provisors networking community. Catch the full show on YouTube @ProfessionalsofInlandEmpire.
