Nearly 8,300 first-year and transfer students attended UC Riverside during the fall 2025 quarter, the largest entering class in the school’s 72-year history.
UC Riverside also experienced the largest year-over-year increase in new student enrollment during last year’s fall quarter: from 6,690 in the fall of 2024 to 8,293 last fall, a 24 percent increase according to a statement on the university’s website.
“UCR is experiencing unprecedented momentum,” said Emily Engelschall, associate vice chancellor for enrollment services. “These numbers represent more than growth; they reflect strong demand and deep confidence in the value of a UCR education and are representative of thousands of individual students who chose UC Riverside because they believe in what this university makes possible.”
Also during last year’s fall semester, the student population at all 10 UC campuses exceeded 300,000 students, the first time the system has reached that mark, according to the statement.
