Upgrades to SR 74 scheduled

Caltrans will begin upgrading pavement later this month along a stretch of State Route 74 in Lake Elsinore.

The project will include pavement repairs done with asphalt hot mix, cold plane asphalt concrete work, and curb ramp improvements to make them compliant with the Americans With Disabilities Act, according to a statement on the city’s website.

Motorists should plan routes accordingly, expect potential delays, and reduce speed when traveling through the work zone.

Work will be done from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday between Grand Avenue and Interstate 15. An exact start date was not announced. Please note that schedules are subject to change due to weather or other factors.

Work is already underway on the SR-74 Ortega Highway Lane Widening Safety Project nearby. Motorists may see overlapping activity as the two projects continue. For more information, visit the Caltrans District 8 website.
