Victorville to update its hazard mitigation plan

Victorville is asking for the public’s help in updating the city’s Local Hazard Mitigation Plan.

The plan, which is required of all California cities by state and federal law, finds ways to cut risks from natural and man-made hazards, and maintain the High Desert city’s eligibility for Federal Emergency Management Agency funding, according to a statement on the city’s website.

The LHMP community survey is available in English and Spanish online through this fall.

“This survey will help the LHMP planning team better understand the community’s concerns about natural hazards and identify policies and projects that can help lessen the impact of future hazards,” the statement reads.
