Volunteers sought for homeless tasks force

Palm Desert is asking for volunteers to serve on its Homeless Task Force.

The seven-member panel will consist of two council members appointed by the mayor, two business community members, two at-large community members and Jann Buller, chair of the housing commission.

Business and community members will serve four-year terms. The business members may live outside of Palm Desert, but their businesses must be in the city.

One of two at-large community members must be a member of the Public Safety Commission.

The task force will advise the city council on homelessness and how the problem, which is substantial throughout the Coachella Valley, should be addressed. Meetings will be held monthly at city hall on a day and time determined by the task force.

Applications may be submitted online at arcg.is/191f450 or via the link found on the City’s website at cityofpalmdesert.org/our-city/committees-and-commissions.  For more information call (760) 776-6454.

Deadline to apply is Dec. 1.
