Classic rock band to Route 66 event

Foghat, the longstanding British heavy metal band, will headline the Saturday evening entertainment lineup at the 6th Annual Route 66 Cruisin’ Reunion in Ontario later this year.

The band, whose hits include “Fool for the City,” “Drivin’ Wheel” and “Third Time Lucky,” figures to draw fans of all ages to downtown Ontario, according to a statement by the Greater Ontario Convention & Visitors Bureau, the event’s sponsor.

The two-day classic car show is scheduled to be held Sept. 20 and Sept. 21. It will be held in its traditional location, a 22-block stretch on Euclid Avenue near the Ontario Town Square, the Ovitt Family Community Library and Ontario City Hall.

Last year’s gathering of vintage cars and hot rods drew 200,000 people.

The family-friendly event, which includes games and prizes, is free.  More information about entertainment and showtimes will be released later, according to the statement.
