Ontario International Airport has purchased its first zero emission fleet vehicle.

Announced June 15, the fully electric truck made by ZO Motors USA in Fontana, will be used to assist with multiple operations, including helping support logistics facilities, according to a statement on the airport’s website.

The truck will be paid for with a San Bernardino County grant. Its exact cost was not disclosed.

“This is a smart investment that aligns with our commitment to sustainability while enhancing our day-to-day operations,” said Alan D. Wapner, president of the Ontario International Airport Authority board, in the statement. “We are proud to partner with a local manufacturer to bring innovative, zero-emission technology into our fleet.”

The vehicle is expected to reduce greenhouse emissions, and cut the amount of fuel used by the airport, according to the statement.
