Drive-in movies for ONT
Starting next week, Ontario International Airport will host four Friday night drive-in movies on a portion of the airport parking lot.
The series will premiere June 19 with “Ford vs. Ferrari,” much of which was filmed at Ontario International, according to a statement on the city’s website.
“The Sandlot” is scheduled to be shown July 3, followed by “The Princess Bride” on July 17 and “Napolean Dynamite” on July 31.
Each movie is free and will begin at 8:30 p.m. They will be shown on 50-foot screens erected on Lot 5, which is at the northeast corner of the airport property. Digital sound will fed directly into the vehicles via an FM radio signal.
“Drive-In Movie Nights at Your Airport” is a collaboration between the Ontario, Ontario International and Street Food Cinema, a Los Angeles creative marketing and events company which has produced outdoor movies since 2012.
The movie series is designed to bring neighboring communities together while providing critically needed support to local food banks. All movie-goers are encouraged to bring donations of canned or boxed food. Movie-goers may reserve a spot by visiting https://ontmktg.info/ONT-Movie-Night-1.
