Donut chain to open local drive-thru

Dunkin’ Donuts will open its first drive-thru in San Bernardino County.

The popular chain will move into a 3,000-square-foot storefront at the Mountain Green Shopping Center in Upland, according to a report in the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin.

Minor changes to the building’s interior and exterior will be made, and a 400-square-foot patio will be added.

The revised structure, which was formerly occupied by Honey Baked Hams but has been vacant for several months, is expected to be ready for business in January, the report stated.

GNC and Sprint are also located in the building.

Besides being the first drive-thru, the Upland location will be the second 24-hour Dunkin’ Donuts in San Bernardino County. The first opened in Barstow last year.

Upland’s planning commission approved plans for the project this week.

The Canton, Mass.-based chain announced last year that it plans to return to the Southern California market with the opening of 44 establishments in Los Angeles and Orange counties.
