J.C. Penney Looking to Hire

J.C. Penney is trying to fill 200 jobs at the store it plans to open at the Inland Center Mall in San Bernardino.

The retail chain is conducting two job fairs for its future Inland Center location, the first of which is being held at the downtown mall, 500 Inland Center Drive, said Joey Thomas, spokesman for the company, in an email.

That event began Thursday and will continue from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

The second event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 25-26 at the San Bernardino Employment Development Department, 658 E. Brier Drive.

Recruiters are looking for several positions, including department supervisors, replenishment and support associates, commissioned and non-commissioned sales associates and beauty consultants, Thomas said the email.

In October, J.C. Penney is scheduled to move into a two-level,138,000-square-foot space that was occupied by Gottschalks until that company went out of business in 2009. Macy’s, Forever 21 and Sears are Inland Center Mall’s other anchor tenants.
