Adams to step down as Temecula City Manager

Aaron Adams will retire as Temecula’s city manager.

The city’s top administrator since 2013, Adams will leave office at the end of this year, according to a statement on the city’s website.

Adams began working for Temecula in 1995 as in intern, working his way up through the ranks before being appointed city manager in 2012.

Adams was named California’s City Manager of the Year for 2026 by the California City Management Foundation. He will retire as Temecula’s longest-serving city manager.

“Aaron’s leadership has helped build one of the strongest financial foundations of any city in California, and perhaps the nation,” Mayor Jessica Alexander said in the statement.
