Chaffey College to host industrial seminar

Seven hundred Inland Empire high school students will participate in National Manufacturing Day, scheduled to be held this month at the Chaffey College Industrial Technical Learning Center.

Students will learn about robotics, welding, and industrial-electrical careers during the event, which will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 13 at the Chaffey College Industrial Technical Learning Center.

Participants will tour the school’s industrial electrical and robotics laboratories and participate in welding demonstrations, among other activities. Several employers will also be including PepsiCo-Frito Lay, FedEx, Amacor, and Mission Foods.

“We are seeing a bright outlook in the manufacturing sector despite the impact COVID-19 has had on our regional economy,” said Chaffey College Superintendent/President Henry D. Shannon in a statement   “The Bureau of Labor Statistics shows an eight percent increase in job growth among manufacturing careers through 2031

“That is great news for Inland Empire residents looking for rewarding good-paying jobs.”

The learning center is at  9400 Cherry Ave., Fontana.
