KFC to expand in Ontario

KFC will open a drive-thru restaurant in Ontario.

The chain has signed a 15-year lease on a 3,200-square-foot parcel at 1851 E. G St. next to an In-N-Out Burger, according to Progressive Real Estate Partners in Rancho Cucamonga.

Progressive represented the landlord, whose name was not released. Irish Commercial Brokerage in Manhattan Beach represented KFC, which already operates three restaurants in Ontario.

Lease terms were not disclosed.

The franchisee, Restaurant Brands New Zealand Ltd. is the largest KFC operator in Southern California, with more than 70 locations. Restaurant Brands also franchises Taco Bell, Carl’s Jr. and Pizza Hut, according to the company’s website.

The property at Interstate 10 and Vineyard Avenue is visible to approximately 270,000 vehicles a day. It is near Ontario International Airport and Ontario Convention Center.

A building on the site is being renovated and is expected to be ready by the middle of next year, according to Progressive.
