A ribbon-cutting was held at city hall attended by Mike Scioscia, Mickey Hatcher, Miguel Rojas, Ramon Martinez, and other Dodgers luminaries. ESPN Radio did a a live broadcast from the event, which began with a procession from the dealership down Seventh Street to city hall at 13220 Central Ave.
“I am thrilled to welcome Orel Hershiser Chevrolet to our community,” said Mayor Eunice Ulloa said. “Orel his team have made it their mission to become part of the Chino fabric by attending community events, and supporting our local businesses.
“We’re excited to have the Bulldog (Hershiser’s nickname while he was playing) on our team.”
Hershiser pitched in the major leagues for 18 years, including 14 with the Dodgers, before retiring after the 2000 season. He was World Series MVP in 1988, when the Dodgers defeated the Oakland A’s.
