Moreno Valley will open a state-of-the-art bicycle park later this month.
The Flight Deck Bike Park at 13460 Morrison St. will feature the largest pump track in Southern California, and will include an adaptive track for riders of different skill levels, according to a statement on the city’s website.
A pump track requires cyclists to use their arms and legs to push down on berms built into the track, then pull the bike up to create speed. The result is a sensation similar to riding a roller coaster.
The park will also offer a bicycle playground for young riders.
“Our team loves being part of projects like this,” said John Hunter, chief executive officer of American Ramp Builder, the company that built the park, in the statement “When a client and a community are willing to push creative limits to build a unique and engaging space, the outcome is something that makes a lasting impact.”
Opening festivities will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 18. For more information visit moval.org/parks.
