Moreno Valley to hold state of city

Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez will deliver Moreno Valley’s annual state of the city address Aug. 18.

Gutierrez will speak of the city’s accomplishments in the past year and its plans for the future, according to a statement on the city’s website.

“As we go through life, we inevitably wonder what kind of legacy we’re leaving behind,” Gutierrez said in the statement. “Moreno Valley’s legacy is defined by service. I’m excited to share all the things we have done to serve the people of Moreno Valley, including bolstering our public safety initiatives, attracting businesses, dedicating more parks and trails, and setting aside $50 million toward repaving our roads.”

This year’s theme is “Legacy of Service.” The ceremony, which will broadcast live on YouTube and MV3, is scheduled to be held at 11 a.m. at the Conference & Recreation Center’s Grand Valley Ballroom, 14075 Frederick St.
