Progressive Real Estate Partners in Rancho Cucamonga has helped negotiate the sale of a historic building in downtown Pomona.
The Armstong Building at 150-196 E. Third St, and 345 S. Locust St. was purchased recently by the Western University of Health Sciences for $2.9 million, according to a statement on Progressive’s website.
Progressive represented the seller, a Los Angeles-based investor whose name was not released.
Western University is a private medical institution with more than 20 academic programs.
It plans to use the 27,980-square-foot building, which has seven ground-level commercial units and eight residential lofts, as an extension of its campus, according to Progressive.
The late Dave Armstrong opened a ceramics and collectibles store in 1969 in the building that bears his name. Armstrong closed that business in 2014 so he could concentrate on operating the Museum of Modern Ceramic Art, which he founded.
The museum is also in downtown Pomona, at 399 N. Garey Ave.
