Retail landmark sells for $3 million

A San Jacinto retail center has been sold for $3 million.

Farmer’s Corner, a 77,000-square-foot indoor facility at 2500 S. San Jacinto Ave., was sold by an Orange County investor to an investor from Oregon, according to Progressive Real Estate Partners in Rancho Cucamonga.

Progressive represented both parties in the transactions, each of which wished to remain anonymous.

Built-in 1980, Farmers Corner resembles a farmhouse. It’s home to a breakfast restaurant, a jewelry store, a barber, shop a party supply, and offices. It also has 9,000 square feet of vacant space – some of which was once occupied by an Acapulco Restaurant.

Farmers Corner is at South San Jacinto and Menlo avenues, an intersection that accommodates more than 26,000 vehicles on a typical day.

The buyer is planning to “aggressive” marketing to fill the vacant space, which is about 40 percent of the property, according to Progressive.
