Doug Robertson is stepping down as Apple Valley’s city manager at the end of this year.
Robertson announced his retirement earlier this month after spending eight years on the job, according to a statement on the town’s website.
“Serving the residents and businesses of Apple Valley has been an incredible honor,” Robertson said in the statement. “I am proud of what we’ve accomplished together, and grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside such dedicated staff and an engaged community.”
Robertson has spent more than 30 years in public service. Before working in Apple Valley, he spent 15 years in Victorville, including seven years as city manager. He also held leadership positions with San Bernardino and Cal State San Bernardino.
Todd S. Bodem, who has spent more than 20 years as a city and county administrator in California and his native Minnesota, will succeed Robertson, according to the statement.
