Samantha Marquez has been named San Bernardino County’s director of legislative affairs in the Office of Governmental and Legislative Affairs.
Marquez, who has more than 10 years’ experience in policy development, will oversee bill tracking, policy review and the county’s collaboration with state and federal partners, according to a statement on the county’s website.
“San Bernardino County has a strong voice in shaping legislation that impacts our residents, businesses and communities,” said Marquez in the statement. “I’m honored to join a team that is dedicated to advocacy rooted in collaboration, accountability and service.”
Marquez will also help shape the county’s biannual legislative platform, according to the statement.
Before joining San Bernardino County, Marquez was district director to the Assembly majority leader in Sacramento, where she led community engagement, and legislative outreach, according to the statement.
