Ontario International Airport is off to a solid start in 2026, having logged a 3.7 percent year-over-year increase in its passenger count in January.
Nearly 493,000 air travelers passed through Ontario International’s turnstiles in January, according to a statement on the airport’s website.
The domestic passenger count was 426,614, a drop of 1.9 percent compared with January 2025. The international count was 66,281, a 64.4 percent year-over-year increase on the highest single-month international count in the airport’s history.
“We closed out 2025 on a high note with more than 7.1 million passengers for the year, and we are encouraged by our start in 2026,” said Atif Elkadi chief executive officer of the Ontario International Airport Authority, in the statement.
“Over the last 10 years, passenger volume has grown almost 70 percent, which shows that Ontario International has become a premier gateway for air travel in Southern California.”
Air cargo handled at Ontario in January totaled 66,840 tons in January, a 5.5 percent increase compared with one year earlier, according the statement.
