Jim Steiner has been named board chairman of the Riverside Transit Agency.
A Corona city council member, Steiner will spend the next year leading board meetings, establishing priorities, and representing the agency at public events, according to an agency statement.
A Corona resident for nearly 40 years and a board member since 2018, Steiner replaces Riverside Councilmember Steve Hemenway.
The agency’s top priorities in 2026 will be opening a new hydrogen fueling station at its Riverside facility, and introducing the first hydrogen fuel cell buses to the community.
Besides serving as board chair, Steiner also serves on the agency’s executive committee and is a member of the northwest chapter of Transportation NOW, a group that promotes public transportation, according to the statement.
