Charna Widby is the new executive director of First Five Riverside County, a childhood development program conducted by the county.
Also known as F5RC, First 5 Riverside County promotes programs and partnerships that support the health, early learning, and well-being of children from prenatal to age five, according to a statement on the county’s website.
Riverside County expects to have approximately 230,000 children ages zero through five living within its borders by 2008.
“Charna’s vision and expertise will continue to elevate the county’s commitment to ensuring every child in Riverside County has the opportunity to thrive,” said Supervisor V. Manuel Perez, board chair, in the statement.
Widby replaces Tammi Graham, who led F5RC for the past ten years before recently being named director of RivCoONE, which takes a holistic approach to helping residents with meet their physical and emotional needs, according to the statement.
