Stephen Patchan is Riverside’s new deputy director of community and economic development.
Patchan, who has more than 20 years of planning and economic development experience in the public and private sector, began work Sept. 13, according to a statement on the the city’s website.
Most recently, Patchan worked for Mark Thomas, a civil engineering and construction management firm based in San Jose with 11 offices throughout California, including one in Ontario.
He was also a program manager with the Southern California Association of Governments, where he developed Go Human, a program that helps government entities – including Riverside – secure project grants.
“We are thrilled to strengthen our efforts and build capacity with the addition of Stephen Patchan,” said Jennifer Lilley, director of community and economic development, in the statement. “His diverse experience will be an asset to the department and organization.”
