CSUSB science students could be eligible for scholarships

Cal State San Bernardino students who are pursuing science degrees may be eligible for a scholarship.

Edison International, the public utility based in Rosemead, recently donated $75,000 to the university’s philanthropic foundation for students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, according to a statement on the university’s website.

The scholarships will pay for tuition and other academic expenses for students who meet academic qualifications. The money is intended to support students who are economically disadvantaged.

“Edison International has been tremendously generous in its support of our STEM majors,” said Sastry G. Pantula, dean of the College of Natural Sciences, in the statement. “I am grateful for the partnership we have been enjoying for many years. It is a strong relationship built on our shared passion for encouraging students to pursue a STEM education and a career in a STEM field.”
