Redlands passes sales tax measure

Redlands has passed Measure T, a one-percent sales tax that will raise money for public safety, city services, and infrastructure.

The Nov. 3 ballot measure, which needs a simple majority for approval, passed with 57 percent of the vote, according to a statement on the city’s website.

The San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters is expected to certify the election results later this month.

Collection of the Measure T tax is scheduled to start next April, and city officials expect to begin collecting revenue from it next summer, according to the statement.
