Riverside officials will discuss the proposed Riverside Sports Complex & Entertainment District at a community meeting next month.
The session is scheduled to be held at 10 a.m. Oct. 18 at Springbrook Clubhouse, 1011 Orange St, according to a statement on the city’s website.
Representatives from the project’s developer, Riverside-based GCS Development, are expected to attend.
“This meeting will provide ample opportunity for community members to understand the proposal, ask questions and engage with the city and the developers,” Mayor Patricia Lock Dawson said in the statement.
Riverside plans to develop the project on 56 acres that was once home to the Ab Brown Sports Complex. That site, south of Placentia Lane, north of Garner Road, and west of Orange Street, has been vacant since 2018.
Riverside officials hope the project, which will combine sports, entertainment, housing, retail, and community space, will boost the Northside neighborhoods economy, according to the statement.
